DIEZ and Dubai Land Department Partner to Boost Proptech Sector

The Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and the Dubai Land Department (DLD) have joined forces to foster the growth of the property technology (Proptech) sector. Their collaboration is aimed at enhancing research, technological innovation, and easing business operations in Dubai, while also supporting startups, SMEs, and innovative enterprises in this emerging field.

This partnership aligns with the Dubai Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) Grant Initiative, launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in September 2024. The initiative, focusing on sectors such as Cognitive Cities, will prioritize advancements in Proptech, smart mobility, and smart grids.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ, and Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director-General of DLD, at Dubai Silicon Oasis. Dr. Al Zarooni emphasized DIEZ’s commitment to fostering a supportive environment for emerging tech startups, SMEs, and innovative projects. He highlighted that Dubai is a prime destination for entrepreneurs with tech-driven ideas, with the goal of doubling the emirate’s economy and positioning it among the top three global cities by 2033, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).

Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita noted that the collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge technologies like AI and blockchain in real estate. This partnership aligns with DLD’s Real Estate Evolution Space (REES) initiative and the Dubai Real Estate Strategy 2033. By leveraging modern technology and digital solutions, the two entities aim to make Dubai a global hub for real estate innovation.

Key areas of collaboration outlined in the MoU include joint programs focused on real estate technology, the promotion of AI and Proptech applications, and providing vital support for startups and SMEs within the sector. Together, DIEZ and DLD aim to strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading destination for technological and real estate advancements.
