Effective from January 1st, 2025, Issuance of Electronic Invoices Must Be Uploaded on Time and Accurately
The Ministry of Finance has announced that there is a key revision to the Business Tax Act to mandate businesses to issue electronic invoices and transmit them, along with necessary information, to the Ministry’s Electronic Invoice Integration Service Platform for record-keeping. Penalties will be imposed for non-compliance, ensuring accurate business tax input credits for buyers. Consumers can also confirm receipt of cloud invoices via the Platform or the Government Uniform Invoice(GUI) Lottery APP.
The Ministry of Finance further explained that businesses failing to transmit timely or accurately electronic invoices and related necessary information for record-keeping will be fined between NTD1,500 and NTD15,000. If the corrections are not made within the specified time or are inaccurately made, penalties may be imposed on a per-instance basis. The Ministry urges businesses to issue electronic invoices within the prescribed deadlines and ensure the accurate transmission of electronic invoices and related necessary information to avoid penalties.
