UAE Entrepreneurs Rank Among the Most Optimistic Globally for Business Growth

A recent survey by HSBC reveals that 98% of UAE entrepreneurs—one of the highest percentages globally—are optimistic about the growth prospects of their businesses. This confidence persists despite challenges such as geopolitical uncertainty and global macroeconomic pressures. Additionally, 95% of these business leaders anticipate an increase in their personal wealth over the coming years, highlighting a strong outlook for both business and financial prosperity.

UAE entrepreneurs lead globally in their confidence regarding government support for businesses. According to HSBC, 86% of entrepreneurs in the UAE believe the country has the right regulations, laws, and tax policies to encourage business growth.

Richard Van Der Meer, Head of Commercial Banking at HSBC Bank Middle East, highlighted how the UAE’s pro-business policies are fostering a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. These policies not only benefit domestic entrepreneurs but also attract global business leaders seeking to establish or relocate their headquarters in the UAE.

UAE business owners are highly mobile, with 65% residing part-time in multiple locations, surpassing the global average of 53%. For those planning to relocate their businesses or assets, Saudi Arabia is the most favored destination, followed by the UK and US.

Van Der Meer noted that the tech sector, in particular, is experiencing remarkable growth. HSBC is supporting this expansion through innovative digital solutions such as API-enabled global treasury management, virtual accounts, and venture debt offerings tailored for mid and late-stage tech companies. “It’s inspiring to witness this momentum in the UAE,” he remarked, emphasizing the nation’s role as a hub for entrepreneurial success and innovation
