Forging a Future-Forward Partnership: UAE and South Korea Deepen Strategic Economic Ties
ABU DHABI – In a significant demonstration of strengthening bilateral relations, the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Korea convened a high-level roundtable forum in the capital on Wednesday, charting a ambitious course for enhanced economic cooperation and shared technological advancement. The high-profile event, held on November 19, 2025, served as a cornerstone of South Korean President Lee Jae-myung’s official visit, underscoring a mutual commitment to transforming a robust trade relationship into a comprehensive, future-oriented strategic partnership.
The roundtable, a collaborative effort between the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Trade, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Federation of Korean Industries, brought together a powerful delegation of ministers, senior government officials, and chief executives from major corporations in both nations. The presence of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and President Lee Jae-myung highlighted the strategic importance both governments place on this evolving economic alliance.
In his opening remarks, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed warmly welcomed President Lee and reaffirmed the UAE’s steadfast dedication to building international partnerships that fuel sustainable economic growth and create lasting, shared prosperity. He emphasized that the UAE views South Korea not merely as a trading partner, but as a key ally in its journey towards economic diversification and knowledge-based development.
“The foundations laid by our leadership have paved the way for a partnership that extends beyond conventional boundaries,” Sheikh Khaled stated. “Today, we stand at a pivotal moment to accelerate this partnership, leveraging Korean innovation and Emirati vision to address global challenges and seize the opportunities of the future.”
