To sell food supplements in Hong Kong, businesses must comply with labelling, advertising, and importation regulations. Labels must include product name, ingredients, net weight/volume, expiry date, nutritional information (if applicable), country of origin, and storage instructions in both Chinese and English. Health claims are regulated under the Undesirable Medical Advertisements Ordinance (UMAO). Importation requires compliance with customs regulations and possibly import permits. Distributors must handle, store, and transport products according to food safety standards. The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) conducts random inspections and tests for microbial contamination, chemical hazards, and heavy metals to ensure compliance.

💰 Taiwan | Identities Ineligible for the Employment Gold Card
Applicants who meet all requirements for a Gold Card but are ineligible include Mainland Chinese citizens, individuals with Hong Kong/Macau and Taiwan dual citizenship, those who entered Taiwan with an R.O.C. passport, R.O.C. nationals living in Taiwan with household registration, R.O.C. nationals who entered Taiwan with a foreign passport and have yet to apply for household de-registration, and men who haven’t fulfilled military service obligations or are close to service age without the necessary certificates or endorsements.
📈 Vietnam | Over 60% of Japanese Companies Report Profitable Operations in Vietnam
In a recent discussion between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and major Japanese corporations, it was revealed that over 60% of Japanese businesses in Vietnam are expected to be profitable in 2024, the highest in five years, with 56% planning to expand operations in the next 1-2 years. Japan, a key partner for Vietnam, has provided over $20 billion in loans and significant aid and currently has more than 5,500 FDI projects in Vietnam. Bilateral trade is projected to reach $46.2 billion in 2024, with over 600,000 Vietnamese living in Japan. Japanese businesses highlighted cooperation opportunities in energy, infrastructure, and education, emphasizing Vietnam’s strong development momentum in the region.
