When Going Abroad over 6 months, One can Apply Stop Health Insurance
In Taiwan, NHI(National health insurance) is compulsory social insurance. Residents shall enroll and be covered by the insurance. However, for people who go abroad over 6 months and don’t want to keep the NHI, applying for stop insurance is provided.
Keep enrollment – no application needed and keep paying insurance premiums.
Apply stop enrollment – Insurance premiums are suspended while traveling abroad. Please note medical benefits are also suspended.
The service is on apply-basis and unable to retro. Please check your personal status and make necessary arrangements in advance before going abroad.
