Strategic Enterprises to Set Up or Expand Business in Hong Kong
According to the delivered Hong Kong Budget 2024-25, more than 40 strategic enterprises have or will establish or expand their businesses in Hong Kong. They will invest over $40 billion in total and will create more than 13,000 jobs.
On 20 March 2024, the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) held the Partnership Signing Ceremony and welcomed the new strategic enterprises from the mainland China and the United States. Most of the enterprises will set up their regional headquarters and the research & development centres in Hong Kong.
The enterprises come from different industries, including fintech, artificial intelligence and data science, life and health technology and advanced manufacturing. Through their investments, new partners from the industry chains will be brought and boost the development in innovation and technology sector of Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is an ideal location for strategic enterprises expanding their business. Under the ‘one country, two systems’ principle and also with the best international governance standards, Hong Kong maintains a free and open business environment Enterprises can easily collaborate with the sister cities in the Greater Bay Area for more opportunities.
OASES targets to reach out to at least 300 strategic enterprises to negotiate for establishing or expanding their business operations in Hong Kong in 2024. OASEStogether with the Hong Kong Investment Corporation Limited, the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau and Invest Hong Kong and will actively reach out to the enterprises from overseas and mainland China.
OASES and the related departments will engage the enterprises which are interested in setting up their businesses in Hong Kong in detailed discussions on the business development plans. Also, they will provide one-stop services to these enterprises and follow up on their development process and support their needs.
