#FATF GUIDANCE – Politically Exposed Persons (Recommendations 12 and 22)
A politically exposed person (PEP) is defined by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) as an individual who is or has been entrusted with a prominent public function. The potential risks associated with PEPs justify the application of additional anti-money laundering / counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT) preventive measures with respect to business relationships with PEPs.
* Identification documents:
- Valid Passport Copy
- Valid of Residential address proof issued not more than 3 months
** Corporate documents:
- Certificate of Incorporation (equivalent to)
- Business Registration Certificate (equivalent to)
- Certificate of Incumbency Certificate of Good Standing
- Memorandum and Articles of Association
- Organizational chart (including intermediary corporate layers until UBO)
The Authority may request the attestation by UAE Embassy and MOFA for the above documents.
The information collected will be treated as strictly confidential and will be used for the establishment of the above company only.
