Google Labs and DeepMind Introduce Pomelli, an AI Marketing Experiment for SMBs

Google Labs, together with Google DeepMind, has launched Pomelli, an experimental AI tool designed to help small and mid-sized businesses create marketing campaigns that stay true to their brand. Pomelli is currently available in public beta, in English, across the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

How Pomelli Works

Pomelli starts by analyzing a company’s website and existing visual assets. From this, it builds a “Business DNA” that captures key brand elements such as tone of voice, visual style, color palette, and fonts. All content generated by the tool follows this profile to ensure brand consistency across different marketing channels.

Smarter Campaign Ideation

Once the Business DNA is established, Pomelli proposes campaign ideas tailored to the business. Users can select from these suggestions or enter their own prompts based on specific marketing goals. This approach is intended to reduce the time spent on brainstorming and message development.

Ready-to-Use Branded Assets

Pomelli can generate branded creative assets for social media, websites, and digital advertising. Users are able to edit both copy and visuals directly within the platform before downloading the final assets for use in their campaigns.

Why It’s Relevant for Businesses

For businesses that do not have dedicated in-house design or copywriting teams, Pomelli could significantly lower the effort and cost involved in producing professional, on-brand marketing materials. Google positions the tool as a way to speed up campaign creation without the need for detailed agency briefs or starting from scratch.

What’s Next

As a Google Labs experiment, Pomelli is still in its early stages. Google has indicated that the product will continue to evolve and is actively seeking feedback from businesses during the public beta phase.
