Dubai Chamber Establishes Peruvian Business Council to Boost Trade Relations

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has officially launched the Peruvian Business Council, marking a significant step toward deepening trade and investment relations between Dubai and Peru. The announcement was made during the council’s inaugural annual general meeting at the Dubai Chamber headquarters, with the event graced by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade.

The newly established council is the 61st Business Council under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and aims to foster closer collaboration between business communities in both regions. It will serve as a platform to promote bilateral partnerships across various sectors, while also supporting Peruvian companies and investors interested in entering or expanding within the Dubai market.

Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, emphasized the strategic role of such councils: “The formation of the Peruvian Business Council highlights our dedication to building stronger economic bridges with global markets. These councils play a crucial part in enhancing Dubai’s non-oil trade and investment ecosystem.”

During the meeting, members discussed the council’s priorities, event calendar, and strategies to elevate economic ties. The launch comes amid booming trade between the two regions. In 2024, non-oil trade between Dubai and Peru reached AED 8.3 billion, reflecting an impressive 91% year-on-year growth. As of Q1 2025, 23 Peruvian companies are registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

The Dubai Chamber’s country-specific councils work closely with international partners to foster meaningful business connections, bolster foreign investments, and position Dubai as a preferred hub for global trade.
