GoGBA Sector Series
The Greater Bay Area “the GoGBA” Seminar for Accounting Sector was co-hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Office (GBA Office) of the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau to launch the “GoGBA Sector Series”. The seminar’s strategic partner, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, concentrated on how to advance the accounting field in Hong Kong within the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
“Under ‘one country, two systems,’ Hong Kong enjoys significant advantages such as free flow of capital, a common law system, a low and simple tax regime, and a regulatory regime aligned with the international market,” stated Ms. Maisie Chan, Commissioner for the Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Hong Kong’s premier business climate and well-known professional services industry make it the ideal choice to act as a “super connector” and “super value-adder” between the global market and the Mainland.”
The Qianhai Authority of Shenzhen and the Nansha District People’s Government of Guangzhou were also asked to present the most recent tax benefits and preferential policies in Nansha and Qianhai, the two main GBA cooperation platforms. The methods and practices of Hong Kong’s professional accounting services in growing their companies in the GBA were also presented by a number of accounting professionals, which helped participants better comprehend and seize the development prospects brought about by the GBA’s development.
A collaborative effort between the GBA Office and HKTDC, the new “GoGBA Sector Series” intends to address the needs of various industries and offer more focused and targeted information and assistance to professionals and businesses in related industries via a wider range of channels, assisting them in growing their operations throughout the GBA’s cities. Apart from the keynote addresses and panel discussions, the seminar also featured one-on-one consulting services and small group advisory workshops. These provided opportunities for specialists to address queries and provide guidance on the growth of the accounting industry in the GBA’s Mainland cities.
